Dr. John Mphaphuli's self-development trilogy is best described as a "how-to guide" to financial intelligence, debt freedom and becoming money-wise. Dr. John believes that in order for you to succeed in your financial life you need to "set a plan" in place to achieve your goals, hence the series brand title "The Plan". Each book outlines different lessons that one needs to follow in order to become financially successful, simply by training yourself to think like a rich person. Each of the books in the series have strategies that are simple to follow and offer practical tools that one can immediately implement. You’ll also uncover the habits that lead to poverty and the lies about money and investments. In reading this complete series you could be well on your way to a future of wealth, profit and freedom to live the life you desire.
This is the first in Dr. John Mphaphuli's set of three books on how to become wealthy, simply by training yourself to think like a rich person. The author goes to great lengths to illustrate that rich people do not think like average people. They are constantly thinking about the future. They are passionate and goal-oriented. They are outrageously ambitious and prefer specific knowledge over formal education. They know how to leverage other people's money and are not afraid to invest, even if it means taking a risk. They surround themselves with like-minded people. They raise their children to be financially literate. Do you think like a wealthy person, or like a poor person? This book offers you the opportunity to cultivate the right mental attitude to attract riches, and stay that way. Book 2 shows you how to build your personal empire, following 7 crucial techniques. Book 3 focuses on debt management and the pitfalls of compound interest. Throughout the 3 books, the author uses the common thread, "Why the poor stay poor and the rich stay rich".
It’s never too early, or too late, to make your self-talk work for you. We all hold inner monologues as we go through life, yet most conversations are generally dysfunctional and provide little in the way of increasing our belief that failures are simply veiled lessons to achieve success. This book takes Dr. John Mphaphuli’s first book a step further to becoming wealthy. The author explains that while books by various authors will certainly inspire and motivate you, the journey toward self-actualization begins with you. If you are hesitant to totally commit to the task of cultivating a millionaire mindset, then attempting to learn how to become financially literate will make little sense. But if you are awake to the opportunities to explore ever-expanding fertile ground, follow the steps outlined in this book. Start building your financial knowledge by becoming familiar with your household finances. Set financial goals. Develop a budget and stick to it. Learn the difference between good and bad debt. Persistently educate yourself on personal finance. Book 3 fast forwards the budding millionaire to identify investment opportunities, build an asset portfolio and develop the habits of wealthy people.
Being financially literate allows you to earn more, spend less, and get the things you really want in life. The process of achieving financial independence started slowly in Book 1, recognizing that rich people and poor people think differently about money, cultivating positive self-talk, and becoming familiar with your household expenses. Book 2 focuses on skills learned to set financial goals, recognize the difference between good and bad debt, and avidly building an asset portfolio. Becoming wealthy takes a giant leap in Dr. John Mphaphuli’s third book in the set. Self-education is a lifelong adventure, according to the author, who speaks from personal experience. He advises that truly wealthy people develop the habit of “getting rich slow” rather than “getting rich quick.” Wealthy people spend much more time thinking about their finances than people who remain poor. Good advice is to spend as much time investigating the investment as you spend earning the money that you are thinking of investing.
